The neck lift is a procedure designed to give better definition to the neck line, lessen wrinkling, and diminish unsightly ‘banding’ in the neck. It is often combined with Lipo Shaving to remove fat collections in the neck area.
A neck lift combined with lipo shaving can improve common problems that develop in the undersurface of the chin and neck area, often referred to as the “turkey gobbler deformity”. This is when the skin becomes extremely lax and flaccid. The Adipose (fat) collects and aggregates in the undersurface of the chin region. Also, a thin muscle layer beneath the chin forms a “cord-like structure” also known as “platysmal bands”. This deformity is unsightly and can be nicely addressed with the neck lift.
