Dr Artemus J Cox III, MD FACS

Dr. Artemus J. Cox III, MD, FACS attended the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Medicine, followed by a General Surgery internship at Methodist Hospitals of Dallas and an Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at the Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Cox focused his efforts exclusively on surgery of the face and neck. Such specialty training and experience provided him an unparalleled foundation to become a facial plastic surgeon. Ultimately, Dr. Cox was chosen for a prestigious Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery fellowship sponsored by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
After completing his fellowship in 1999 at Oregon Health Sciences Center under the direction of internationally renowned facial plastic surgeons Ted Cook, M.D. and Tom Wang, M.D., Dr. Cox learned the latest advancements in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, encompassing all aspects of cosmetic facial enhancement.
Holding Board Certifications in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, as well as Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, he stands in unique company among the few plastic surgeons in the region that have dedicated expertise and qualifications to perform facial cosmetic enhancement. In addition, he is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Cox has been published in numerous scientific journals as well as held Presentations at local, national and international meetings. Some of these include: “Facial Plastic Surgery Advances”, “Treatment of the Aging Forehead”, “Anatomy of the Eyelids” and “Unwrinkling the BOTOX® Story”.
Dr. Cox currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at UAB’s Center for Advanced Surgical Aesthetics. His practice encompasses the full range of facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, including rhinoplasty, face lifts, brow lifts, eye lifts, ear pinning, lip enhancement and the use of BOTOX® and filler agents.
Dr. Robert Oliver Jr
Plastic Surgeon
Dr. Oliver's clinical interests include cosmetic Plastic Surgery, emerging technologies, and breast reconstruction after cancer operations. Services he will offer at our Medical Spa will include, but are not limited to, the latest advancements in liposuction and breast augmentation techniques and a variety of cosmetic injections.
Dr Oliver attended the University Of South Alabama College Of Medicine followed by general and plastic surgery training at the University of Louisville (KY). He subsequently served a fellowship in advanced cosmetic and breast surgery at the Nashville Plastic Surgery, directed by Dr. G. Patrick Maxwell. Dr Oliver is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and currently practices with his father, Dr. Robert Oliver Sr., at the Oliver Plastic Surgery Clinic, located in Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham Alabama. He is a teaching faculty member in Plastic Surgery for the Baptist Health System surgical residency training program, and a volunteer clinical faculty member for the University of Alabama-Birmingham plastic surgery division.

Jena Green – RN, BSN
Jena Green earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of North Florida, and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion and Business from Auburn University. She has over 7 years of experience working in the aesthetic/cosmetic field. Jena has successfully helped develop, coordinate, and maintain the aesthetic side of successful medical spas in South Carolina and Florida. She has also worked with a large Plastic Surgery practice in Atlanta, GA. Jena has been professionally trained in many aesthetic services, including sclerotherapy, Botox®, Restylane®, Perlane, Juvaderm, Photofacials, Laser Hair Removal, ablative and nonablative laser resurfacing, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, mesotherapy, lipodissolve, tattoo removal, and skin care analysis. She has also assisted in various procedures including Ambulatory Phlebotomy, Endovenous Laser, Contour Thread lifts, and Tumescent Liposuction. Jena is originally from Hoover, AL and enjoys reading, exercising, boating, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. “As important as skills and training are, a nurse’s patient care is even more important. Janie Frazier-RN & Permanent Makeup
Janie graduated from the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, GA. with a degree in nursing. She has 35 years of operating room experience. She has worked closely with many plastic surgeons in this area. She provides IV sedation, monitoring and assists with the surgeries performed at the spa.
Janie also attended the Beau Institute in Mt Laurel, New Jersey for permanent cosmetic training. She can add fullness and definition to eyebrows, apply permanent eyeliner a perfect answer for people who have allergies, contacts, movement or eye problems or just to save time. We offer full lips or just a lip liner. Also permanent cosmetics can be used for skin re-pigmentation and nipple/areola re-creation.
Janie will join us providing laser hair removal, IPL treatments and Vitamin B-12 injections. She enjoys traveling, gardening and dogs!

Ashley Piper – Medical Assistant
Ashley has worked at A Medi Day Spa since June of 2006. She completed her pre-nursing courses at Auburn University and is now waiting acceptance into nursing school. Ashley performs many jobs at the spa which include: assist with patient examinations and surgery procedures, provide customer service and explanation of medical procedures to patients, as well schedule patient appointments. Ashley provides the spa with hardworking values while obtaining a friendly and welcoming personality.
